Agent behavior

How tasks, incentives, interaction, and institutional context shape collective agent behavior.

Archetypal Emergence studies patterns that arise through interaction among agents, tasks, incentives, and institutions. It separates a context-dependent response from lasting learning and asks when coordinated behavior depends on the interaction mechanism rather than a role label. The current direction uses matched solo and group baselines, neutral-label controls, and environmental interventions such as truthful escalation and peer feedback. A bounded Compacitas mechanism can record an internal role need from repeated evidence, while broader activation and authority remain separate decisions.

The research question

When do environmental conditions and interaction produce useful coordination that survives fresh tasks and changed context?

Research workstreams

A question. A method. A test.

Workstream 01

Controlled task, incentive, and peer-message experiments

Workstream 02

Matched baselines and causal removal of interaction mechanisms

Workstream 03

Need detection, reversible role proposals, and transfer evaluation

Evidence priorities

Make progress measurable.

The initiative is framed around testable questions. Its research direction should be assessed against observed evidence and the limits of each experiment.

  • Matched solo, group, and neutral-label baselines
  • Causal dependence on task, incentive, and interaction conditions
  • Coordination and transfer without unauthorized expansion of roles

Research goals and proposed mechanisms are not established findings. Product-linked tracks describe the research behind a capability, rather than a claim that its hypotheses have been validated.
